The Ultimate Discussion with Charles Dickens

Enjoy an evening full of Victorian entertainment as the rock star of his time, Charles Dickens, pays a visit to Dover. Mr. Dickens will give a reading from some of his most popular titles and take your questions!

No, we are not holding a séance.  Delmarva Discussions is simply recreating those heady days when Mr. Dickens came to America and jammed up the streets by visiting all manner of people, from stops at prisons, asylums, and schools for blind and deaf children along with evenings in some of the wealthiest homes in the Nation. Everyone wanted to see Mr. Dickens and Dickens wanted to make sure all had a chance, no matter their station or circumstances in life.  Seeing and hearing Mr. Dickens in person was the highlight of the era.  Your chance is now!

Noted Dickens impersonator Herbert “Joe” Plummer will be portraying the great writer at the McGlynn’s Pub in Dover, Delaware on October 2, 2010 at 6pm.  Enjoy roasted chicken with lemon and herbs, meatloaf, cole slaw, roasted potatoes, and other vegetables – a repast Mrs. Beeton (the Victorian Martha Stewart) would approve of.  End the evening with coffee, poundcake and gingerbread with assorted toppings, and an “autographed” copy of Oliver Twist!

Order your tickets now as admission is by PRE-PURCHASE ONLY and reservations are limited!  You must act before September 24, 2010 to be included in this once in a lifetime event!  Tickets are $50 and include the Dickens reading and question/answer period, dinner and desserts, a copy of the book Oliver Twist, and an unforgettable evening of unusual entertainment!
